Semantic web

Made small bits of progress on my semantic web project, foafab
I managed to turn a foaf node into a tree of dynamically constructed python
objects.

it'd be really nice if the attributes of the objects were still tied to the
rdf document. Not to mention grabbing the label from the rdf schema instead
of the last element of the namespace

though for the moment perhaps I should just focus on displaying the address
book information.

More jessica

Yay! more time with jessica this weekend, we seemed to have dealt with the
arguing from last week. (or at least ignored it).

Saturday we went to a birthday party for one of her friends--Chris
(an intellectual ex- whose an english professor somewhere). I also
met another friend "Mo" whose a female coder whose married to a political
science prof at ucla who did his undergrad at caltech, and who knows bevan,
sean, etc. (apparently he was the same year as sean's brother).

Sunday she left to go do work and I got to walk out of my apartment and hug
her in front of anne marie, the children's hospital doctor who lives
downstairs. (Her only reaction to that was to smile at me.)

Even more shockingly I spent some time talking to her and one of the other
residents as they started a garden in the back yard.

Cashew French Toast

ingredients

qty

ingredient

1/2 cup

Raw cashew pieces

1 cup

fortified soymilk

1/2 tsp

vanilla extract

1 Tbl

pure maple syrup

<2 tsp

high-oleic sunflower or safflower oil

6 slices

whole grain bread

directions

Grind the cashews in a dry blender until they are powdery.

Add the soymilk, vanilla, and maple syrup, and blend until
  smooth.

Pour into a shallow bowl or casserole dish. Preheat a heavy skillet
  (prefferably nonstick) over medium heat.

If using a nonstick skillet, lightly oil or spray the pan
    first.

If using a cast-iron or other heavy skillet, generously oil the pan
    first.

Dip the bread in the cashew mixture, then place two or three
pieces on the skillet (depending on skillet size). Do not overlap
the French toast; instead leave a little space between the
  pieces.

Cook until nicely browned, then flip and cook on the other
  side.

Serve with jiffy fruit sauce (pg 310), maple syrup, or chopped
  fresh fruit.

From becoming vegetarian 2nd edition.
